Two books for the price of none!

By May 17th, 2010 17 Comments

Desperate Housewives wrapped up last night with some edge-of-your-seat cliffhangers. (Check out the episode recap over at Entertainment Weekly.) This Thursday, I’m eagerly looking forward to the Grey’s Anatomy finale, which — after a year of rocky storylines and confusing character exits — is a nice nostalgic feeling. It looks to be an action-packed double-hour show, at least according to the preview, and it’s kind of nice to be excited to watch this show again.

In honor of these two finales, we’re hosting a DOUBLE giveaway (apparently all the on-screen drama inspires generosity in us; who would have thought!).

From now until Thursday at 11:59 p.m., comment for the chance to win copies of Grey’s Anatomy 101 and Welcome to Wisteria Lane, our anthologies on Grey’s and Desperate Housewives.

One winner. Two books. Very exciting.

Simply tell us your favorite episode of either show, and you’ll officially be entered to win.

It’s tough to pick a favorite episode of “Grey’s,” but I would say season 4′s “Haunt You Everyday” is my favorite, followed closely by the season 5 finale episodes “Here’s to Future Days”/ “Now or Never.”

My favorite episode of Desperate Housewives is “Pretty Little Picture,” episode 3 of the first season. It’s the first episode that I watched, and it got me hooked. During the dinner party, while sharing assorted relationship secrets, Bree blurts out “Rex cries after he …” and I was hooked.

I kind of stopped watching Grey’s after Denny died. If I happen to across it now, then I’ll still watch it, but I don’t make a date with my TV on Thursdays anymore. So I think my favourite episode was when Izzy and Denny got engaged (Adison and George were still around. . . there was some good drama!).

My all-time favorite episode of Grey’s was the two-parter in Season 2 (I think) with the bomb in the guy’s chest while Bailey is giving birth to her son. That episode was my first and it still sticks out in my mind as some of the finest acting and writing on TV. So many good moments; Izzy and Karev in the closet, O’Malley helping Bailey through labour, Grey with her hand in the poor guy’s chest where the unexploded ammunition was…all so good.

My favorite episode of Grey’s was in Season 2; With the explosive device in the guys chest and the 1st girl gets so terrified she runs out of the room, so Meredith takes her place, putting her hand in the man’s chest to stop the device from exploding. Drama, drama, drama, drama! I loved it.

My favorite Grey’s Anatomy episode is either “Break on Through” when the nurses strike or “Seventeen Seconds” when the patients were in a workplace shooting (both season two).

I’m looking forward to the season finale, which is nice considering the last season or two has been – in my opinion – really bad overall.

Hard to pick a favorite episode of Grey’s. Probably “Shake Your Groove Thing” or “Who’s Zoomin’ Who?” from season one.

Honestly, I’ve been disappointed in the last two seasons, but still watch out of love for Sandra Oh and Ellen Pompeo. I absolutely adore the Cristina/Meredith friendship.

When George did the surgery in the elevator after Karev froze. He showed (I can’t even remember his name, is that bad?) the cardiac thorastic surgeon that he should be a surgeon (even after he froze in the first episode). I have always had a soft spot for George.

The episode when Meredith drowns in uncertainty in the bathtub. Drowning on Dry Land when she utters the words Holy.

Haven’t had TV for 7 years or so. I check out DVDs at the library and watch some online. I am just getting started with Grey’s and don’t have a stand out favorite yet.

My favorite couple was Denny & Izzy. It was such a romantic story.

My favorite episode on Grey’s is the first episode with Mark. Loved that Derek hit him and then Meredith and friends came up with McSteamy as his nickname.

My favorite Greys would have to be the bomb in the chest/Bailey giving birth episode. Tonight’s was the best one I have seen in the last two years.

My favorite episode of Grey’s Anatomy was when there was a “code black” because there was a bomb in Seattle Grace Hospital, and Meredith took over for the EMT and gets in danger. I think it was the season finale of season 1, because I remember my guy friend who is a nurse telling me, “damn what are y’all women watching?! you’re like the 10th to call and ask me ‘what’s a code black?” LOL
