My favorite character is still Katniss Everdeen, I can identify with many of her traits with many highlighted both in the book and in the movie.

Ok, so I’ve only read the first book so far but my favourite character is Haymitch. This guy has to meet these kids get to know them, train the, but knows that in all likelihood are going to die. And he has to go through this year after year after year, no wonder he’s broken and a drunk, who wouldn’t be messed up by that?

My favorite character is katniss , in the movie and books she was portrayed just as I thought she should be hard face removed of emotion she was emotional to the point I wanted to cry but yet quickly recovered she always try to over think but misses the main point like why peeta does all he does and it’s not just because he trying to kill her as she believes it because he really loves her. I can’t wit or 2 and 3 those movies will be intense especially for katniss and peeta

Lenny did a good job as Cinna but Elizabeth as Effie was spot on.

My favorite character would have to be Gale. Watching your best friend volunteer her own life for her beloved younger sister and having no way to help your best friend aside from bringing her mother and sister food has to be rough. Being forced to watch Katniss fight for her life and almost dying a couple times yet not being able to do anything about it is terrible. I feel so bad for Gale because he eventually realizes that he does love Katniss, but by then, it’s too late and the Capitol has their plans with using Katniss and Peeta as their pawns. Gale’s life is changed by the Games just as Katniss and Peeta’s lives were changed.

Cato! In the movie, we see that he just wanted to win and bring pride to his district. He was brought up to kill people, and he had no idea that what he was doing is wrong and inhumane.

My favourite character from the film was definitely Clove. Partly because she’s the little girl who is kind of psychotic and terrifying, and I’m fond of that character in general. But also because even though she knows how to fling those knives, and is deadly at it, she’s still just a girl, and she doesn’t want to die. She throws knives at a lizard just because she’s bored. She sleeps with her hand on her knife the way a normal girl might sleep with a teddy bear. She’s menacing and terrible when she’s in control, but the moment she’s vulnerable, she shows fear and her humanity, and it’s heart-breaking. Plus she’s a Career, and I love them in general. And Isabelle Fuhrman is brilliant.

Which isn’t to say that I didn’t love every single one of them – Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch, Cato, Rue, Thresh, Foxface, Glimmer, Marvel, Prim, Gale, Seneca Crane, Caesar Flickerman, President Snow, ALL of them – but it was Clove that I fluttered my hands around for every single time she appeared on the screen.

My favorite character in the Hunger Games movie? Well, I really thing they casted well, and I certainly love all three of the main players but I have to say, Cinna. I love Lenny Kravitz — he can do no wrong. In the movie, though, he played it so well and was such a force of calm for Katniss. With just a hint of sparkle, he is my favorite.

My favorite character was definitely Peeta. Not because of his looks or affection for Katniss, but because he withstood the most suffering out of all 3 novels and stayed strong, managing to survive. This is a tough task, especially considering situations he was put it, and I’ve always admired that of him.

Gale. He gets a bum rap in Mockingjay but he has a systematic critique of the Capitol before anyone else does.

My favorite character in the movie (I’m surprised to say) was Effie! I think she was so well adapted, her outfits were wonderfully outrageous, and she was hilarious/lovable while still representing the skewed mindset of the Capitol.

I also experienced the same prbelom when I read the ending if the book. Coming to the end I was sure Peeta loved Katniss, but as I read those final pages I began to wonder because he seemed to be losing interest now that the games are over. Does Peeta seem dinstant because he feels that Katniss is leaving to return to Gale, or was this all just part of the act for him? I’m guessing book 2 has the answers.

Hands down, I have to go with Katniss Everdeen. I love all of the supporting characters in the whole trilogy as well (which will be all the more obvious when I spend the next movie yelling “FINNICK ODAIR” at the screen), but the protagonist of THE HUNGER GAMES is my favorite. Katniss is fierce and brave in the face of what seems like an impossible situation. She’s not friendly, but her commitment to the people she loves draws in others. I thought Jennifer Lawrence did a brilliant job portraying Katniss’s personality and emotions on screen. This had to be quite a challenge, since the book being from Katniss’s point of view allows for the reader to know her every motivation and feeling. I give Jennifer Lawrence a lot of credit for being able to portray the complicated nature of Katniss’s character without having a cheesy voiceover to fall back on.
What really cinched my choice was her performance at the Reaping–the way she volunteers for Prim gives me chills, even after seeing it in previews a bunch of times and seeing it while watching the movie twice. In a completely different way, I loved the small scene where she looks at Prim’s cat, Buttercup, and says, “I’ll still cook you.”

I definitely can’t choose a favorite character in the entire series because each and one of them has his or her characteristics that makes them unique. The ones I love the most are:
Katniss: She is strong, brave and willingfull
Peeta: He holds a kind and strong heart
Cinna: He is the only person from the Capitol that knows the difference between right and wrong from the beginning.

I reread the series after seeing the movie, and I think my favorite movie character was Haymitch. Despite the fact that he didn’t fall off the stage, his lines were fantastic. “You made me spill my drink…these are new pants.” To Katniss “Nice dress” and then to Effie “…not yours.” All the lines containing “sweetheart.” I am paraphrasing here since I need to see the movie again to burn the quotes into my (old) brain. Even just watching a wary Haymitch observing the sword play of the Capitol children was a memorable moment. This could all change upon another viewing. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

it is very difficult to pick since everyone of them are so AMAZING!!! but most probably Peeta if i had to pick one because he is self-motivated and would do just about anything for Katniss. even his last wishes are for Katniss to live and knowing that her feelings are all pretend he still goes out of his ways to save her.
