Upcoming Smart Pop Titles, June to December

By Leah June 8th, 2010No Comments

We’ve teased a few of our upcoming books (by asking you to vote on covers and, of course, running that contest for our Dollhouse anthology), but today we’re officially unveiling the titles and covers for all the Smart Pop books we’ll be publishing through the end of 2010.*

Next to each book you’ll find a sign-up form to be added to that book’s notification list—something new we’re trying out this year. Signing up for one of these lists means we’ll send you any big news associated with that particular book: a link when it’s available for purchase, naturally, but also any special discounts and a head’s up when we post free essays from it, so you won’t miss them. (You can, of course, also take yourself off of any list at any time.)

One note: If you signed up for the Dollhouse contest list previously, we’ve turned that into the book update list, so you don’t need to sign up again!

* Your publishing trivia for the day: This time period does not actually correspond to our upcoming publishing season. Why? Because publishing seasons do not adhere to any recognizable definition of the word “season”—well, maybe the definition used in sports, or growing.

Also of note: Seasons vary from publisher to publisher and distributor to distributor. Our current seasons are March to August (“Spring”) and September to February (“Fall”). Previously, we worked on the inexplicably unbalanced season schedule of April to August and September to March. Some publishers work on a 3-season schedule.

There are good reasons for grouping upcoming books, but I have no idea why we group upcoming books in this way; if anyone reading this does, I’d love to know!
